Proud :)

This weekend, my amazing sister-in-law won 3rd place in the Gulf Coast Rising Stars Talent Competition at Tanger Outlets in Gulf Shores, Alabama while on vacation.  This was her first time performing in public!
http://www.youtube.com I must say, though, on Saturday, she performed again, at the Gulf Coast Rising Stars Talent Competition – Winners Live Performance at the Hot Air Balloon Festival there in Gulf Shores, and she placed second place over all of the winners!
My husband and I are so unbelievably proud of her, and I think you should check out the rest of her videos on her YouTube Channel :)

Hearts

I have only lived in this apartment 6 months now, but within the first month, I had this place filled with ideas that I came across on Pinterest.

Here is how I created my own Heart shaped collage for less than $10 with free printables and the Clips frames from Ikea.

Oh, Summertime...

Actually, I must say we had some awesome adventures so far this summer that are not in the world of academia for a change.

In the Kitchen--Recipes found on Pinterest

I'm constantly scouring Pinterest for healthy and yummy recipes, when I came across this:
My pin from Pinterest, which should lead back to the original source
We tried this for dinner late last night after getting an envie for tacos, and it was both very quick and delicious!

Back in May, we made tacos for our friends for my (late) birthday party, and I found these great Carb Balance tortillas from Mission:
However, I'm not really that crazy about ground meat in my soft tacos. When I came across this, I knew this would be a great alternative, but it ended up being even more delicious than expected!
Instead of cutting the tortillas, I left them at their full size, and instead I just folded it a bit.  This way it had some extra space so my hubs could as more toppings, like avocados, pico de gallo, red onions, etc.  I left mine plain (well, I added a little extra cheese).

It tasted like "Taco rings" (which are made on a pizza stone- you create a ring with the dough from crescent rolls, stuff some taco meat and cheese on there, then fold up the other part of the triangle), but it wasn't as carb heavy.

So much going on...

Source
It seems like everything my husband and I embark on is an adventure, and while we're both creatures of habit sometimes, we revel in doing new things and inspire each other, as well.

We have so many things going on in our lives, so I'll start off this blog briefly giving some information on all of our adventures at the moment.
